I am the unhappy daylight

That burnt its poor beloved angel

With the immortal flames

Of my unquenchable passion

Leaving my own heart hopeless

Desolate, inconsolably in love

With the air his massive wings

Stirred into a tempest

Each sigh a gust

Carrying him further

Than my senses and

My light can reach

Break, little world,

And lie at his feet

Rearrange my senses

Crush my light into diamonds

Still my trembling bosom

As my new day is dawning

On the sire of the surf break

— My beloved angel —

Dying each night

Born each day anew

My love for him burning

And re-birthing him

Ever more glorious
